towards the Pacific Coast through the old Spanish route of 1606. Once
we reach our destination, we will start the jungle boat tour

Volcano, known for being Costa Rica's highest volcano, its four
craters and its unique vegetation. On the way back to San
Jose we wil visit the Basilica de Nuestra Senora de Los Angeles,
the church that houses Costa Rica's patron saint, and the
Lankester Botanical Gardens. This tropical paradise covers 11
hectares and hosts more than 3,000 species of exhibition plants,
including bromeliads, ferns, bamboos, palm trees and a wide

town of Orosi and its colonial church, which is an excellent
example of colonial-religious construction.

Taking in the Botanical Gardens and the Beauty of Sarchi

Chocolate with Pineapple: Tropical Specialties
(private only)Discover
cacao's natural and cultural history and the process used
to transform it into chocolate. You will also find out about how
indigenous peoples used it and the rainforest that cacao comes
from. The tour includes a walk along Costa Rica's longest
hanging bridge, which hangs above the Sarapiqui River. Once
we are on the plantation, we will show you the entire process
that chocolate goes through from the cacao plant, flowers,
fruit, seed extraction and then making the chocolate. You will
be able to make and enjoy your own chocolate. We will continue
to the Corsiana Pineapple Farm. This pineapple is unique to
Costa Rica, and you will get an overview of the fruit's history.
We will be in direct contact with the plantation, and we will
see how this fruit is packaged. You can see conventional and

the southern part of San Jose, you will visit a huge variety of
shops offering wood, paintings, textiles and more, many made by
local artisans. You will find the best examples of Costa Rica's

ends at one of San Jose's largest shopping centers, which boasts
a large variety of stores and restaurants.
We start our hike getting to know the
cloud forest from the inside so, we walk into the cloud
forest using the all natural trails of the privately own LA
TROCHA RESERVE. This reserve is a natural treasure since it
holds a primary cloud forest and a microclimate that is the
result of drastic changes in altitude.
Sometimes with luck you may see the
White-faced Capuccin Monkey (Cebus capuchinus) and frogs
We continue our trail until we get to EL
MIRADOR where you can see an amazing view of the canons of
the Blanco River and the Cajon River are both rivers have
yellowish colored waters due to the sulfur from the nearby
Irazu Volcano. Also, for your enjoyment, the Cajon River
offers a beautiful waterfall that is more than 200 feet
high.
OUTSIDE:
Once the hike inside the cloud forest is done we will show
you the cloud forest from outside.
On this section of the trail you will see
a panoramic view of the Blanco River canon, Tierras Morenas
and Patillos Mountain Ranges, and the entire Central
Mountain Range Forest Reserve.
Then we take a walk around EL TRONCO dairy
farm where you can appreciate the daily activities of a
dairy farm a typical business in Vasquez de Coronado County.
In the farm you can find cedar trees that are about 85 feet
wide and 180 feet tall those trees have an average of 300 to
400 years old. .
To end our hike, we go through pastures
with cows to finally reach back the shelter where we started
earlier.
